I think this one is probably an '83 based on the parts and fork. The Commando showed up in the catalogs in '84 so this was probably a pre-cursor to the bike with an official name (and accompanying top tube decal) and all the braze-ons. One could argue that this technically isn't a Commando, but with it's black rims and camo paint I'm sure it inspired the bike that showed up in the catalog the next year.
