1982 Steve Potts, #19

One of my favorites. This is Steve's 19th bike, made in December of 1982. I got it from Steve, the paint was quite bad so I did the dreadful deed of repainting it. It's got some really unique decals that were designed by Elizabeth Fenimore Cobham (wife of Billy) that only made it on a few of his bikes - I've only seen them on one other. And besides the beautiful fillets and Type I fork, the stem is just so cool. Fillet-brazed, and with a 4-bolt removable face plate it was way ahead of its time. Instead of a quill/wedge setup, it's clamped onto a 7/8" stub that's brazed into the steerer tube, in a way the predecessor to threadless. Parts are the standard hodge-podge for the day with the best stuff from around the world.

Oh, and please excuse the blurry pics. It was my first time with the camera. These will have to do for now, but more to come.
